It´s not possible to put words on such a tragedy. These were youths who got together to have a good time and to discuss politicial matters. They were killed when they did what they loved - being engaged teenagers.
Host 1:
With us to say some words are Jon Ragne Bolstad, communication director of the Norwegian YMCA.
Jon Ragne Bolstad:
The previous week was a week of sorrow in Norway. The young people killed at the camp came from all over the country. We are all affected and in shock! Why did it happen? How can one man have so much hatred?
One of the victims who survived was intervied by CNN. Her answer has become a guideline and a way for Norwegians to look forward: if one man can show this much hatred, imagine how much love we all can show together.
Norwegian YWCA and YMCA received condolences from all of our international YMCA-network. Thank you so much for your prayers, your kind words, your fellowshop. Organisations like the YMCA and programmes like TEN SING are more important than ever before. We want European Ten Sing Festival to be a place where we can sing together, cry together, to be involved together and to have fun together.
This man tried to stop young people who wanted a better world. With help from all of you, we can prove that young people can not, and will not, be stopped in doing what they believe in. Together we will create a better world!
Host 2:
Thank you Jon Ragne. The attack in Norway was not just an attack on the youth on Utøya, it was an attack on what all us. It was an attack on multiculturalism. Our answer to the terrorist is to get togheter from different cultures and share the same these important values: Democracy, brotherhood and love.
Host 1:
St. Paul writes in his first letter to the Thessalonians: See that no one pays back wrong for wrong, but at all times make it your aim to do good to one another and to all people. We will not seek revenge, we will seek love. The love that God shows us and that we will show each other.
Song: Pride (In the name of love)
