Easter 2010 is one that I dont think I will forget for a long time to come. I got a chance to experience the best Easter camp that I think I will ever attend
I was part of a group of about 40 young people from høvik church who went up to Hjartdal for almost a week from March 26th- March 31st for their annual Easter camp.
At first I was not quite sure what to expect because I had been to Hjartdal a couple of times before and also it meant missing a trip to Sweden for my birthday but now that I look back, that week with Høvik was so much more better than a single So we got there on Friday 26th at around 8pm and ofcourse everyone was rather tired so there wasnt much activity for Friday night just socialising and getting some ground rules for the weekend and week.
Come Saturday morning and that is when all the fun began. For one it was My birthday so definately the day was great. The whole group sang happy birthday to me and made me feel so special:-) We then went outside and played some games in the snow and that was very much fun. After lunch people were free to do whatever they want and we hangout just watching a couple of football matches and then later on for dinner we had a barbercue outside and that was pretty fun
Night time there was a chocolate cake for me:-) wow it was great and they all sung to me again and we all ate that beautiful cake. Later that night we played some games and that was so much fun and I must say it was a happy birthday indeed
Sunday Morning after devotion there was outdoor activities again with skiing and a competition where people were supposed to make things from snow in groups...The artwork and creativity was hillarious. to say the least. One group even made a toilet from the future with snow.
Sunday Night was open with just fun games and activities and groups also made a thriller/action movie that were gonna be shown on the last night
Also on Sunday Night i got to watch a Norweigian football match between Stabbek and another team that I didnt quite get because everyone who was there was a stabbek supporter anyway. The game ended in a 2-2 draw anyway but it was fun to watch Norweigians really cheering and supporting their own :-)
On Monday we had fight night. That was alot of fun. Fight night is a battle of the sexes kind of thing where the boys are competeing against the girls in different things like car racing, there was also the question challenge where each team has to ask the other team three questions about themselves and I was surprised that the boys knew so much about girls while the girls were rather clueless but they were no match for us in the car racing challenge and the music challenge. But in the end the boys took the day-which was ok seeing as to how they hadn't won in over three years. That was also lots of fun
Tuesday night, which was also the last night was entertainment night- there was alot of talent displayed from singing, to dancing to playing instruments and of course we also got to see the acting skills as the movies the groups made were premierd on that night:-)
Wednesday saw the end of that long but WONDERFUL weekend and as we nade our way back to civilisation, I couldn't help but feel sad knowing that that was the last time I was going to be in Hjartdal but the memories I carry from there will stay with me for as long as I live.
Påakeleir 2010 was a total BLAST and i completely loved it. I wouldn't take it back for the world.
